A Standout Night for Local Real Estate Investors
Our most recent meeting was one of the most informative—and well-attended—events of the year, bringing together key voices from the legal and real estate communities to discuss timely issues impacting Massachusetts landlords and investors.
We were fortunate to hear from Clerk-Magistrate Joseph McIntyre, Attorney Andrew Beechinor, and Doug Quattrochi of MA Landlords, each offering valuable insights from their areas of expertise.
Attorney Beechinor clarified important updates around eviction records, noting that no-fault evictions may be sealed after four years, while fault evictions may be sealed after seven years. This distinction is critical for landlords navigating tenant screening and long-term record implications.
Clerk-Magistrate McIntyre addressed recent concerns surrounding federal layoffs, explaining that federal employees who were laid off may be entitled to certain protections, a point especially relevant given the current economic climate.
Doug Quattrochi spoke candidly about the potential dangers of rent control in Massachusetts, outlining its broader impact on housing supply and property owners. He also shared that efforts are underway to raise funds for a legal challenge, encouraging attendees to stay engaged and informed on this issue.
